Healthcare & Patient Care

For 10 years, I cared for my late father. Over time, I learned a lot about aging and patient advocacy. I used these skills to alsocare for church members late in life. (They were moved by my work to leave significant legacy gifts to the church.) I also became my father's dialysis technician for 2 years. When he passed away, I began looking at a career in gerontology. I became a hospice volunteer and became certified as a CNA. I worked in Texas in a memory-care facility, and in Las Vegas as an in-home CNA. I also trained as a medical scribe. I am able to write about and work promoting this field, and I remember it fondly.
